  • a framework or formal structure, especially of a literary work.

Kerry Boganwright’s series, Armature, examines the interplay between the tangible and the unknowable, inviting viewers to explore themes of ambiguity and perception. By merging the foundational shapes of pottery with abstract sculptural forms, the work bridges functional and symbolic traditions, transforming the familiar into objects of intrigue and reflection.

The series draws inspiration from the psychological implications of the Rorschach test, encouraging personal interpretation and evoking layered associations. With intricate textures and undulating surfaces, the sculptures are deeply sensory, suggesting forms that feel simultaneously organic and otherworldly.

Through this synthesis of pottery and sculpture, Boganwright’s work challenges conventional boundaries between utility, memory, and abstraction. The pieces function as meditations on what can be known, imagined, or felt, fostering a dialogue between the viewer and the enigmatic, tactile nature of the work itself.

The exhibition will run from March 1st through March 29th, 2025.
